    Made out of hypoallergenic, flexible, medical-grade silicone, the cost-effective menstrual cup is a great leak-free alternative to menstrual pads and tampons. It can be used for up to 8 hours as it holds 2 - 3 times the volume of a tampon or pad and it will stay in place at night and during the toughest exercises. With proper care, it will last you for many many many years.

    Tell me more about the JuJu:

    During your period, blood passes from the uterus, through the cervix, into the canal, and then into your underwear (usually the pretty kind too). 

    Why is this important?

    The height at which your cervix sits will determine which size cup is best suited for you or whether you need to trim the stem of your cup. Be mindful that your cervix may move depending on the time of your cycle. For optimum accuracy it is best to check your cervix height at the same time of day, a couple times a week whilst you are in the shower or when you are likely to be relaxed. After recording measurements for a month you should have an accurate idea of your cervix’s position.

    The JuJu is available in four models:

    • Model 1: Recommend if you have a medium cervix, are under 30 and have not given birth.
    • Model 2: Recommend if you have a medium cervix, are over 30 or have given birth
    • Model 3: Recommend if you have a high cervix or long canal.
    • Model 4: Recommend if you have a low cervix or short canal.

     

    How to measure:
    ‘The Knuckle Test’

    • Firstly, wash hands well
    • Find a comfortable/relaxed position that does not involve lying down
    • Insert finger and slide upwards until you feel your cervix
    • Stop and take note of which knuckle is at the surface
    • Use a ruler to measure and compare to cup sizes for more accuracy

     

      

    Should I Trim the Stem?
    If your cervix moves your stem may be forced ‘hang out’. In this case it’s ok to trim the stem as it can be uncomfortable. However, please only do this if you are completely comfortable with removing the JuJu at all stages of your cycle as your cervix may move upwards at the end of your cycle and be hard to reach. Be sure to trim one node at a time and re-inserting to check how comfortable the new length is.
