REVIVE YOUR BEESWAX WRAPS | ALL-NATURAL | PLASTIC-FREE | CRUELTY-FREE | HOME COMPOSTABLE

Bring your beeswax wraps back to life with the  Refresher Beeswax Block from Wanderlightly.

Available in  50g blocks, these pre-mixed blends include  happy hive Australian Beeswax, sustainably collected gum rosin, and Australian Jojoba Oil to give your wrap the perfect amount of stickiness and pliability every time!

Beeswax wraps are designed to help you  keep your food fresh for longer,  they last at least 1 year depending on use and care. Instead of retiring them at the 1 year mark you can use this natural beeswax bar to revive and restore their stickiness. Food wraps are the perfect partner to help you break up with cling wrap for good.

To wash your beeswax wraps, use an alcohol-free dishwashing liquid and cool water. Gently clean using hands and allow to drip dry for best results.

What’s Inside:

  • A 50g pre-mixed beeswax block ready to DIY your own wraps.  50 grams is sufficient to cover ½ - ¾ meters of cotton fabric.
  • Detailed instructions with 2 easy methods to choose from.

How to use:

Method 1: Melt + Brush

You will need:

  • 1 bar of Wanderlighty's Beeswax
  • A flat oven tray
  • A towel or newspaper to protect surfaces
  • 1 sheet of baking paper (bigger than your piece of fabric) You can use our reusable baking mats for this method!
  • 1 pastry brush
  • Clothes-line (or something to hang on) + pegs

1. Preheat oven to 100C

2. Grate beeswax block with your old grater & dish - watch small mitts with this task!

3. Line baking tray with baking paper or our reusable baking mats ensuring it is bigger than the fabric!

4. Place fabric on paper & sprinkle the grated wax sparingly, but evenly over the fabric leaving a 2cm gap from the edges.

5. Pop into oven keeping an eye on it the whole time.

6. As it starts to melt, spread the wax using your old brush until it is covered evenly. Work quickly at this point as the wax will harden fast.

7. When you are happy with the coverage remove it from the tray whilst still hot to avoid it sticking to the paper. If it does stick to the paper, pop it back in the oven for a few minutes to re-melt, then remove quickly.

8. Place on line to dry for a few minutes & your wrap is ready for use!

Method 2: Grate + Iron

You’ll need:

  • 1 bar of Wanderlighty's Refreser Beeswax
  • Grater
  • Iron + ironing board (or flat surface)
  • Towel or old cloth to protect your ironing board or table
  • 2 sheets of baking paper (bigger than your piece of fabric)
  • Clothes-line (or something to hang on) + pegs

1. Grate Beeswax block using an old grater & dish - watch small mitts with this task!

2. Set Up an Ironing board in a well ventilated space with iron on medium heat. Place an old towel on the board & floor to protect it from any rouge wax.

3. Place fabric on the 1st sheet of baking paper & sprinkle the grated wax sparingly but evenly over the fabric leaving a 2cm space from edges - like cheese on a pizza!

4. Place the 2nd sheet of baking paper over the fabric & begin to iron slowly allowing the wax to melt, pushing towards the edges of the fabric, coating the whole piece.

5. Remove the baking paper to ensure a good coverage & add more in spots that you may have missed.

6. When you are happy with the coverage whip it off the paper whilst still hot so it doesn't stick to the paper. If it does give it another go with the iron & remove. Little mitts may need a hand with this step as it will be hot.

7. Place on line to dry for a few minutes & there you go, your wrap is ready for use!

Zero Waste Tip: Keep baking paper and reuse for future re-waxing events.
