Meet Brianne, the passionate founder of Ethique, who started her journey back in 2012 in her Christchurch home, mixing formulas in her kitchen and formulating the first-ever solid shampoo bar, Mintasy, as an alternative to the staggering 80 billion plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles that are thrown out globally each year.

Frustrated by the amount of waste created by the cosmetics industry, Brianne's deep passion for the environment and science drove her to learn cosmetic chemistry and formulate plastic-free, cruelty-free, and vegan products with ethically and fairly sourced ingredients, paying staff a living wage, donating 2% of sales, and remaining plastic-free.

Today, Ethique offers a range of skincare, home, and pet products, all with the goal of preventing plastic bottles from being made and disposed of in landfills around the world.

Snap the bar into triangles along the indented lines and place the pieces in a heatproof container. Pour 300ml (300g/10.15oz) of boiling water into container and stir until all of the pieces have melted and are well combined. 

Pour contents into a bottle you already own and leave to cool. Shake bottle a couple of times during cool down. 

Massage body lotion into your skin, concentrating on any dry patches including knees and elbows. Use as needed, although a little goes a long way!
