    All-natural ingredients give life to your hair with this deep copper red blend and nutrients that repair dry and damaged hair, giving your hair a soft, lush and shiny look.

    • Ideal for: naturally red hair or whoever love bold colours
    • For grey, light blonde and dark blonde hair: This dye will bring out a bright fire-like red
    • For light and medium brown hair: This dye will give life to sweet cherry burgundy
    • For dark brown and black hair: This dye will reveal red reflexes in sunlight

    Time Required: 

    Organic hair colours do need time to deposit colour onto your hair. Allow yourself some time to sit back and relax whilst your colour develops! For Non Grey coverage allow 1 hour +m & for Grey Coverage allow 2 to 3 hours. 

    How much do you need to use?

    • Short hair & root touch ups: 1/2 pack 
    • Medium Hair: 1 pack 
    • Long Hair: 1 to 1.5 packs 
    • Super long hair: 2 to 3 packs 
    • Thick hair: requires an extra 1/4 pack for short hair, 1/2 pack for medium hair & 3/4 for long hair.

    Founder Charmaine Burnett wanted to create a natural alternative to commercial hair colours after developing severe psoriasis while using them herself. Inspired by the book “Silent Spring”, she made this dream come true with Desert Shadow, a range of certified organic hair colours and hair treatments creating natural pigments for the hair by using raw plants.

    Since 2008, her range has bought forth a range of all-natural shades of colours that help in repairing dry and damaged hair and can last 4-6 weeks before fading. No more bad hair days!

        "My natural hair is black with about 30% grey, and the deep red shade beautifully transforms the grey strands into copper highlights. I wash my hair every second day. The first time I used this dye, the colour lasted around five weeks. For the second application, I left it in for an extra hour, about four hours total and the result was a slightly deeper shade. I’ve been dyeing my hair for over five years, mostly with chemical products. Over time, my scalp became sensitive and itchy, and I also started experiencing noticeable hair loss. Since switching to Desert Shadow, I haven’t had any of those reactions. Although the process takes considerably longer, the results and comfort are worth it. I won’t be going back to chemical dyes."

        "While the process with natural hair dye is more lengthy than chemical-based dyes, if you follow the helpful instructions, Desert Shadow is excellent. This is the second time I have used the Deep Red and it was a much deeper and effective red this time. I only use it as a base for then using Chocolate Shadow and as users have reported, this is highly recommended and makes the chocolate much more effective. I would not go back to chemical dyes ever."
