Eco-Friendly Easter: From Activities to Products for a Plastic-Free Celebration!

Easter is just around the corner, and it's time to hop into action to celebrate it in a sustainable way. It is not always easy to do, but we are here to show you how some things to look out for...

Let’s dive into plastic-free chocolate options, what packaging is best to look out for and activities for a waste-free Eastercelebration that the whole family can enjoy!

Plastic Free Chocolate Solutions & The Packaging to Look For…

Many of us are excited to indulge in delicious chocolate eggs and bunnies (including us!). Our biggest tip to keep things sustainable is to opt for 100% aluminium foil Easter eggs and rabbits, which can be easily recycled.

Aluminium foil is a great alternative to plastic packaging as it is durable, flexible, and can be recycled over and over again. Did you know aluminium is infinitely recyclable and recycling aluminium foil uses 95% less energy than producing it from raw materials? Read that part again! Unlike plastic, it does not take hundreds of years to decompose, and it can be easily reused to make new products.

When it comes to recycling aluminium foil, it is essential to scrunch it into a golf ball-sized ball before putting it in the recycling bin. The small pieces are very hard to be spotted in the recycling centres, so if we make them big, they will be easily sorted and processed at the recycling facility.

Alternatively, for the bakers among us, you could make your own Easter treats and avoid the sugars, packaging & Easter rush!
