    That’s why our Go For Zero Bamboo Bottle Brush is your new bestie for cleaning bottles, glasses, jars & hard to reach places! It is created using bamboo for the handle and coconut fibres for the bristles. *How awesome is that!*.

    Our bottle brush is perfect for our Double-Insulated Bottles that have a 4.5cm wide opening. We would not recommend it for bottles that have a smaller opening than 4cm.

    Hi I’m Ellie, the founder of Go for Zero.

    I began my toxin-free and sustainable journey when my newborn (Gracie) developed rashes using ‘mainstream’ skincare products. Determined to help my daughter, I dedicated my time to research product labelling. I was horrified to discover how many harmful ingredients regular hygiene- and household items contained (and it is safe to say that I became a bit of a toxin-free nerd).

    When I researched and tested toxin-free products, I saw a high amount of vendors still producing top quality products in plastic containers. This created a sore spot in my heart and fire in my belly to only provide products that are safe for you and our planet. Being an online store, we guarantee that your orders are packed with zero plastic and delivered through shipping carriers  who compensate the amount of carbon dioxide used when shipping by investing equally in restoring ecosystem projects.

    From stinky garlic face masks, extremely ‘turmericy’ drinks & deodorant that stains clothes, I have gone above and beyond to make sure that I test and personally LOVE each product that Go for Zero sells.

    How to use

    How to Use:
    Wet brush and use with your favourite dish soap to scrub the inside of your reusable bottle. Rinse off after use. 

    Care instructions:
    After use, allow the brushes to dry properly by hanging them up or standing them on their bristles so the water can flow from moisture-sensitive areas. Soaking in water for prolonged periods of time is not advised.

    Natural signs of aging will occur over time from exposure to water, minerals within water and dish washing liquid. Wood oxidation (dark spots/discolouration), cracks/splits in the wood and bristle loss are possible and do not impact functionality. Wood is a natural product and the compostable nature of this brush is what makes it such a great zero waste kitchen essential.

    How to prevent mould:

    • Store your brush in a dry area, avoid leaving it in the sink
    • Allow brush to sit or hang with the bristles facing down so the water can run off
    • Place your brush in the sun at least once a week
    • Rinsing after use if bristles are congested

    We suggest replacing your Bottle Brush every 2-3 months.

    End of life

    These plastic-free brushes are made from plants, meaning they can return to the earth when you no longer use them.

    Handle & heads: 

    • Option 1: Add to your home compost bin. The bristles will compost in 3-4 months, and the handles will take longer due to the thickness, once broken down, remove any remaining metal. 
    • Option 2: Remove the wire and add it to your kerbside garden waste/FOGO bins.
    • Option 3: Combine both methods: If metal is too difficult to remove, add the head to the compost bin and handle to the kerbside garden bin.

    Metal/wire:

    Take to scrap metal recycling facility or pop into your home recycling bin.

        Good but not all purpose

        "I bought this instead of the more typical shaped bottle brush thinking it would give a better scrub. It does not. The bulbous head does wash under the neck of bottles, but it also means it can only fit into bottles of certain size. The core of the bristles is soft instead of stiff so you can only apply gentle forces as the brush bends easily, and avoid using on anything that has sharp metal bits. I used this to try and wash my bottle blender cap and it can shred on the blades- so be more gentle with it. Overall is does clean bottles and I will keep using it, but I will probably also buy a traditional bottle brush some time soon."

        Losing bristles.

        "Purchasing experience was great, so far in my use of the item I have lost a lot of bristles at the end of the brush, so ill likely end up scratching the bottom of my bottles and not actually cleaning the bottom of them should it continue to drop bristles. i feel like the wire needs to be a little thinner so it can be twisted more easily."
