      Founder Charmaine Burnett wanted to create a natural alternative to commercial hair colours after developing severe psoriasis while using them herself. Inspired by the book “Silent Spring”, she made this dream come true with Desert Shadow, a range of certified organic hair colours and hair treatments creating natural pigments for the hair by using raw plants.

      Since 2008, her range has bought forth a range of all-natural shades of colours that help in repairing dry and damaged hair and can last 4-6 weeks before fading. No more bad hair days!

      Desert Shadow is certified organic by NASAA (National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia) meaning the ingredients are farmed, harvested and processed ethically. The products come in 100% post-consumer recycled boxes making the whole product safe for you, your family and the planet you live in.

      How to use

      Time Required:
      Organic hair colours do need time to deposit colour onto your hair. Allow yourself some time to sit back and relax whilst your colour develops! For Non Grey coverage allow 1 hour + & for Grey Coverage allow 2 to 3 hours. 

      How much do you need to use?

      • Short hair & root touch ups: 1/2 pack 
      • Medium Hair: 1 pack 
      • Long Hair: 1 to 1.5 packs 
      • Super long hair: 2 to 3 packs 
      • Thick hair: requires an extra 1/4 pack for short hair, 1/2 pack for medium hair & 3/4 for long hair. 

      Suitable for children over 14 years. For younger children, consult your healthcare professional regarding allergies before use.

      We recommend performing a strand test before full application.

      End of life

      Once you have finished your favourite hair dye, both the sachet and box are home recycable or home-compostable.

          "I love this product ! It is so natural and vibrant and my hair feels amazing !I was shocked by how well it has cover my white/ grey roots ! I also love that I can pre mix it and split it up into a smaller batch for touch ups. I won't be going back to the hairdresser , because I have spent years and too much money trying to get a natural looking copper. The apication is messier at home and it does take longer , I put it on my roots for an hour and then applied all over after that and left it on for another 2.5 hours, though i dont mind because the end result is fabulous ! And it cost me a fraction of what it does at the salon :)"
