Aussie Family behind the brand

Eco Max believes that the choices you make create the world you want to live in. When they create their products they follow the following principles:
  • Ethical manufacturing
  • Well designed, made to last & biodegradable at end of life
  • And most of all respect the planet

They believe that being an eco friendly business is so much more than the products they produce. For them, it’s looking at the entire lifecycle of their products, from the raw materials, to their disposal, they ensure their supply chain is ethical and transparent.

Materials
They use 100% plant based fibres in their brushes which means they can be composted at the end of their life. The timber they use is a mixture of waste material from the building industry to plantation timbers from FSC certified forests and rubber wood sourced from trees at the end of their rubber producing life.

Manufacturing
Each of their brushes are handmade by women in Sri Lanka, in return they provide sustainable employment, a living wage, flexibility and support to care for their children and a free in-house creche. We love this because the women have the power to be financially independent and directors of their own destiny!

Did you know…their first product was paper made from elephant poo?! From day 1 they’ve thought about how waste can be repurposed. We love that!

How to use

  1. Wet the brush and your hands or feet if desired.
  2. Gently scrub under and around nails using short back-and-forth motions.
  3. Use soap for a deeper clean when needed.
  4. Rinse thoroughly after use.
  5. Suitable for both fingernails and toenails.

Can also be used dry to remove loose dirt before washing.

How to care for your brush:

  • Shake away excess water after use.
  • Stand upright or place in a well-ventilated area to dry.
  • Store in a dry location between uses.
  • Leave in direct sunlight every few uses to naturally freshen and sterilise the fibres.
  • Avoid prolonged soaking in water.

End of life

Once your brush has reached the end of its life, place it in your home compost bin to breakdown naturally. No need to remove the wire, the coconut fibres will be eaten by micro-organisms, the timber handle will decompose over time and the remaining wire can be recycled when the compost is spread.
