    One of the things I learned on my journey of reducing waste was that sponges are made from petroleum-derived materials like plastic. As we scrub and wipe, tiny plastic particles break off and end up in our waterways. Who knew, right?

    Introducing our Go For Zero Eco Sponge with Scrubber Set, a great alternative to the mainstream sponges. They are 100% natural and durable, with a strong but non-abrasive scrubber, making them great for cleaning up spills, cleaning dishes, cookware, bathroom surfaces, and other surfaces throughout the house.

    When it is time to say goodbye, this 100% plant-based sponge and scrubber combo can be composted at home, in your worm farm, or simply buried in your garden.

    Each pack includes two eco-friendly and plastic-free sponges.

    Hi I’m Ellie, the founder of Go for Zero.

    I began my toxin-free and sustainable journey when my newborn (Gracie) developed rashes using ‘mainstream’ skincare products. Determined to help my daughter, I dedicated my time to research product labelling. I was horrified to discover how many harmful ingredients regular hygiene- and household items contained (and it is safe to say that I became a bit of a toxin-free nerd).

    When I researched and tested toxin-free products, I saw a high amount of vendors still producing top quality products in plastic containers. This created a sore spot in my heart and fire in my belly to only provide products that are safe for you and our planet. Being an online store, we guarantee that your orders are packed with zero plastic and delivered through shipping carriers  who compensate the amount of carbon dioxide used when shipping by investing equally in restoring ecosystem projects.

    From stinky garlic face masks, extremely ‘turmericy’ drinks & deodorant that stains clothes, I have gone above and beyond to make sure that I test and personally LOVE each product that Go for Zero sells.

    How to use

    How to Use:
    Wet sponge with water and scrub on your favourite dishwashing bar. Wash the dishes as normal. This sponge is also great for other cleaning purposes around the house!

    How to Clean:
    Simply toss it in the dishwasher or washing machine after use. You can also microwave it wet for 30 seconds for an extra deep clean to remove bacteria.

    End of life

    Both the packaging & scrubs are 100% biodegradable and home-compostable. Cut product into smaller pieces and place in your home compost or bury straight into your garden.

        "Always balked at buying due to the price tag and the scepticism that these will only have a similar short lifespan as normal plastic sponges. Very impressed with the quality and efficiency. Haven’t owned long enough for the lifespan test, but so much nicer to attend to the dishes. Sponge does not suddenly flattens like some plastic sponges and the loofa is abrasive enough to attend to pots and pans, but gentle enough to avoid any scratches. Especially on glass. Only slight fault may be the size, once wet the loofa bulks ups and makes it a bit awkward to hold in the hand, but not a major concern. Awesome product so far."

        Feeling different than usual

        "These have worked so well for me in the past, but my latest batch appears to swell up when used. It's made it awkward to store in its usual fairly tight spot, together with a plain sponge that I also use for another purpose. It feels bulkier in the hand as well. I won't be giving up on this product just yet, but will assess the next batch and maybe change it out at some point if it continues to disappoint."
