    Hi I’m Ellie, the founder of Go for Zero.

    I began my toxin-free and sustainable journey when my newborn (Gracie) developed rashes using ‘mainstream’ skincare products. Determined to help my daughter, I dedicated my time to research product labelling. I was horrified to discover how many harmful ingredients regular hygiene- and household items contained (and it is safe to say that I became a bit of a toxin-free nerd).

    When I researched and tested toxin-free products, I saw a high amount of vendors still producing top quality products in plastic containers. This created a sore spot in my heart and fire in my belly to only provide products that are safe for you and our planet. Being an online store, we guarantee that your orders are packed with zero plastic and delivered through shipping carriers  who compensate the amount of carbon dioxide used when shipping by investing equally in restoring ecosystem projects.

    From stinky garlic face masks, extremely ‘turmericy’ drinks & deodorant that stains clothes, I have gone above and beyond to make sure that I test and personally LOVE each product that Go for Zero sells.

    How to use

    1. Dishes

    • Rub your brush on the solid block to create bubbles or grate approximately 1 teaspoon directly into hot water
    • Stir water to dissolve the soap 
    • Wash dishes the way you would with a standard detergent

      *Do not use in your dishwashing machine as it foams up too much.

      2. Laundry

      Front Loader & Top Loader (the 300g block gives you approx. 150 washes)

      • Grate 1 heaped teaspoon directly into the load or the compartment where you would normally place your detergent
      • Can be used on both hot & cold settings

      3. Hand wash:

      • Grate a teaspoon amount directly into to the tub
      • Swirl around until soap dissolves
      • Place clothing in and let soak
      • Can be used in hot & cold water
      • Can also be applied directly to clothes

      4. Cleaning spray

        The 300g block gives you approx. 170 bottles of 500 ml surface spray

        • Add 500 ml of distilled warm water to 1 teaspoon of grated soap in a bottle
        • Let it sit until the flakes dissolve (shake onces in a while)
        • Use this spray to clean kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

        Please note: When you introduce water to a product without a preservative you always run the risk of introducing bacteria and spoilage. Distilled water doesn't have the nutrients required for mould to grow, which is why we always recommend using it first. If you are unable to use distilled water, please use filtered & boiled water and use the recipe within a month.

        End of life

        Once you have used your bar up, there will be nothing left! The plastic-free packaging, can be placed in your home compost or buried in your garden!

            "I use this for everything! Cleaning dishes, making liquid dish soap, washing fruit and vegetables, creating liquid laundry soap. You'll see from my photo I have a jar on its side - that's to show how thick this gets when set. One heaped teaspoon / tablespoon of it grated in a small jar, with hot water, and allowed to cool/set overnight then becomes soap for your washing machine."

            Great for grease!

            "This is the best dish soap I have ever used and a little goes a long way. I just cleaned the two filters on my rangehood (which I haven't clean in 12 months woops) and this soap completely degreased it. Very impressed! I cut some down to fit my soap cage and it bubbles up nicely for washing up. Haven't used it for laundry as yet but I am very impressed"

            Convenient while travelling

            "Love this product! We are currently travelling and have found this product to be very handy - easy to use and takes very little space. I simply grate a little (say 5grams) into a small glass jar mix with water and add to the washing machine into the usual compartment. So far we've used it at campground laundries, Laundromats and regular domestic washing machines - works a treat and a little goes a long way! Yet to try on dishes as we are still using the last of our regular bottle."

            Miracle soap
