Aussie Family behind the brand

Born in 2017 from one woman’s “life’s-too-short” moment, StokedNZ is a proudly New Zealand–designed, family-driven brand creating ethically made, adventure-ready gear for everyday life outdoors. After a head injury in 2015 shifted her perspective, founder and designer Bec set out to build a business that blended purpose, people, and planet, and sparked a whole lot of joy along the way.

What started as a simple solution to slipping towels and awkward car-park changes has grown into a much-loved collection of Turkish cotton Towelies, home comforts, and functional accessories designed with real humans (like you and us) in mind. Every product is crafted in partnership with three incredible family-run makers in Turkey, relationships built on cups of tea, hugs, trust, and shared values.

At the heart of StokedNZ is a commitment to doing better. That means minimal packaging, recycled materials, no plastic wrapping, Oeko-Tex certified fabrics, vegetable dyes, and giving back to charities doing good in Aotearoa and beyond. They reuse what they can, repurpose what they can’t, and embrace the perfectly imperfect with “not quite perfect” items and creative upcycled pieces.

StokedNZ is for people who love to get outside, chase adventure, and appreciate quality gear that treads lightly on the planet. It’s functional, feel-good design made with heart, and built for the moments that make you feel truly alive.

How to use

How to Use:

Use your new favourite towelie as you would use any other towel. Enjoy its light-weight, quick-drying features!

Care Instructions:

  • Cold water wash, with or without detergent, your choice.
  • Line dry in the sun, tumble drying is not required
  • Avoid the use of fabric softeners, it actually coats the cotton fibres and reduces absorbency over time. Turkish cotton hates the stuff.
  • Periodically, add a cup of vinegar to your wash to remove residues that build up over time through the use of washing detergents

In terms of tassel care:

  • Spin at 800rpm or less
  • Before the first wash (and every now and again) pull gently on each tassel to tighten the knot and keep tassels looking like new.

End of life

This towel is designed to last, when the time comes that it can no longer be reused, you can cut it up and pop it in your home compost or bury it in your garden. Alternatively, take it to your local textile recycling facility.
