Aussie Family behind the brand

"Protecting people and oceans" is the mantra Sunbutter’s founders live by.

Tom and Sacha, two marine biologists, set out to make a highly nourishing, reef-safe and plastic-free sunscreen that not compromises anyone on our planet. Working daily on and under the ocean, they refined and tested this high quality sunscreen endlessly before bringing it to market. And gosh, we love it!

But wait… Sunbutter donates tins where ever possible to assist with environmental and conservation causes. For example, they sent the sunscreen to the volunteers cleaning up Aldabra Atoll and to field staff for Island Conservation projects. What is not to love?

How to use

Massage directly onto skin 20 minutes pre-sun exposure. For best result reapply every 2 hours or after swimming, surfing, dancing and sweating.

End of life

Both the tin & tube can be placed in your home recycling bin once empty.

"This sunscreen is so easy to use and it works so great. Love it!"

"Great products and service"

JULIE (5/5)

Finally found a sunscreen that doesn’t burn my sensitive skin.

"I hate sunscreen. If it didn’t mess with my skin when I apply it, it always did when I washed it off. There was a single brand of aerosol sunscreen I could wear without significant pain for days afterward, and I really didn’t want to use aerosol. Whatever is in almost every other sunscreen that makes my skin bad is not in Sunbutter. I’ve used it three times now with no issue, and as a bonus they have detailed instructions on how best to recycle the tubes, and it appears even the lid is aluminium which is not something I have seen anybody else do, so double deluxe+ kudos to Sunbutter for that."

Nicola J. (5/5)

Freakn in love

"Omg, i am so in love! Has the typical sunblock smell, doesn't run into my eyes (!!!) & i do get good protection from sun burn :) A little goes a long way, which is always a high priority for us .I was looking for something that felt like moisterizer, didn't run into my eyes, wasn't zinc, value for money and didn't further pollute ... this ticks all the boxes"

Zoe (5/5)

Works Well

"Very easy to apply. Love that the packaging is recyclable. The only downside is it does leave some marks/streaks on clothing (which mostly comes out in the wash)."
