This all-natural hair dye will give your hair a medium earthy brown colour, while Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Hibiscus nourish your hair giving it a smooth, soft and shiny finish.
- Ideal for: naturally brown hair
- For grey, light blonde and dark blonde hair: This dye will give you medium brown tones
- For light and medium brown hair: This dye will result in an even natural brown tone
- For dark brown and black hair: This dye will reveal red reflexes in sunlight
Our little tip: This hair dye may pick up a subtle red undertone. If you prefer a cooler shade, you can add a tablespoon of Amla Shadow
No preservatives or stabilisers (of course) • Patch test first • Certified Organic
Time Required:
Organic hair colours do need time to deposit colour onto your hair. Allow yourself some time to sit back and relax whilst your colour develops! For Non Grey coverage allow 1 hour +m & for Grey Coverage allow 2 to 3 hours.
How much do you need to use?
- Short hair & root touch ups: 1/2 pack
- Medium Hair: 1 pack
- Long Hair: 1 to 1.5 packs
- Super long hair: 2 to 3 packs
- Thick hair: requires an extra 1/4 pack for short hair, 1/2 pack for medium hair & 3/4 for long hair.

"I've been using this henna for a few years. The results are natural looking & it really does condition my hair. The colour is close to my own with no brassy red. Once you get used to the preparation it's not a big deal & I put my hair in a shower cap then beanie (quite the look!) & go about my day at home. Didn’t cover greys
"This is the second time I have tried a henna based product to dye my greys. And I was sorely disappointed both times. I followed the instructions exactly, left product on for specified amount of time, I even purchased the special shampoo bar for stubborn greys and used it prior to application. And there was no change to my greys at all. It left my hair feeling very healthy and shiny but as far as colouring my hair, it was a fail."

"I’ve used Walnut Shadow many times over the years because it gives such a beautiful brown colour. Haha but I hate applying it so a friend would do it for me while we had a chat and coffee :) My hair is thick and when it was longer would need 2 packets to cover it all. I hadn’t used Desert Shadow for a few years but had chopped my hair so thought I’d try again. It’s less of a hassle with shoulder length hair but I still don’t find the “me time” enjoyable haha! But the colour is just as beautiful. There is no faulting the consistent quality of this product. 5 star colour and quality."
