RE-USABLE | AIRTIGHT | KEEPS FOOD FRESHER FOR LONGER | SUITABLE FOR MICROWAVE, DISHWASHER & FREEZER
The perfect waste-free alternative to single-use zip lock bags!
Our Reusable Silicone Food Pouches will help you ditch single-use plastic and store fresh and frozen veggies, meat, sandwiches, snacks or mum’s homemade soup. They are perfect for steaming veggies in the microwave, marinating roast potatoes and saving room in the fridge, as they can lay flat or stand upright! I use them as my toiletry bag when camping too. Winning!
The use of 100% food-grade silicone allows them to be safe, durable and see-through for easy identification of food. Their sliding lock creates an airtight seal keeping food fresher for longer and protected from surrounding bacteria.
I began my toxin-free and sustainable journey when my newborn (Gracie) developed rashes using ‘mainstream’ skincare products. Determined to help my daughter, I dedicated my time to research product labelling. I was horrified to discover how many harmful ingredients regular hygiene- and household items contained (and it is safe to say that I became a bit of a toxin-free nerd).
When I researched and tested toxin-free products, I saw a high amount of vendors still producing top quality products in plastic containers. This created a sore spot in my heart and fire in my belly to only provide products that are safe for you and our planet. Being an online store, we guarantee that your orders are packed with zero plastic and delivered through Sendle, who compensate the amount of carbon dioxide used when shipping by investing equally in restoring ecosystem projects.
From stinky garlic face masks, extremely ‘turmericy’ drinks & deodorant that stains clothes, I have gone above and beyond to make sure that I test and personally LOVE each product that Go for Zero sells.
Go For Zero is more than a store. We are a community of like-minded people that are not willing to compromise their health nor their planet. Much better than zip lock bags and made from thick silicone (and less guilt with plastic!). Also more reliable that you won’t pierce the bag if it’s travelling with other items. Slightly tricky to dry, but just have to be patient and dry both sides or over a mug or cup. Stands up well too. Does get sort of fluffy and dusty on the outside but a small price to pay when it aligns with your values about sustainable living.
I was looking for an alternative to plastic for freezing meat. I have tried freezing chicken in these and it worked great, tidy in the freezer. Although I prefer not to have multiple pieces it serves its function and I know the sliding lock will definitely stay in place. It did not seem to pick up any odours either so very happy with this one.
These are a great replacement for snap-lock bags. I've chucked snacks in these several times and feel better about putting it in my handbag or tote than I would with a snaplock, because it's more reliably leak-proof and sturdier (less likely to puncture it with my keys!). One thing I don't love about it is it picks up a lot of grit and dust and fluff on the outside because of its tacky-silicone texture, which means it needs to drip dry to stop it from picking up tea-towel lint. Not a big deal, still stoked to use less plastic!
Aside from looking good, the pouches do what snap lock bags should do, but are way more resilient in my massive teacher tote bag (where all the snap lock bag snacks hang out all day, sometimes a week…). It was easy to wash and I put it open over a cup to dry. Happy I made this swap!
