Welcome back GFZ’s, to another Happy Earth News story— we’re heading straight to… the dunny. Yep, you read that right. Because sometimes, the biggest impact starts in the smallest room of the house.

The Roll With Real Impact

MeetYarn’n — a First Nations-owned company proving that toilet paper can do more than wipe. It can educate, unite, and spark some serious change (while still doing its job, of course).

Founded byLane Stockton, a proud Wiradjuri man, and David “Crofty” Croft, a former Australian Rugby Union player for the Wallabies, Yarn’n began with a yarn (as all great Aussie ventures do) and a shared vision: to support First Nations youth through education, culture, and—wait for it—deadly dunny rolls.

You may have heard of brands likeWho Gives A Crap, who’ve shown us that toilet paper can be sustainable, give back, and still look good doing it.Yarn’n takes that one step further—not just giving 50% of profits to an incredible cause, but alsoweaving First Nations culture directly into our homes. Every roll features original artwork from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, sparking curiosity, conversation, and connection—right there in your bathroom.

Soft on You and Kind to the Planet

But let’s talk sustainability. Yarn’n usesFSC-certified recycled paper, no inks, dyes, or scents where they don’t belong, and eco-friendly packaging that doesn’t cost the Earth. It’s a loo roll that ticks all the boxes: good for the planet, good for people, and great for your conscience.

Their profits go straight to theYalari Foundation, a not-for-profit providing high-quality education scholarships for First Nations children across Australia. It’s about more than paper—it’s aboutgenerational change.

Why This Roll Matters

Yarn’n isn’t just a product. It’s a movement grounded in mateship, culture, and a better way of doing business. Lane and Crofty say it best, "Yarn’n will always be a planet and young-first company".

So next time you’re restocking the bathroom, skip the supermarket shelf and grab a roll that actually rolls things forward (we could not leave without a pun). Because what better place to start creating change than the one place no one can avoid?

Bunji, up your dunny game!

If you loved this story you’ll love our other blog here about packaging derived from seaweed and plants, it’s a goodie!

Until next time GFZ’s,

Much love,
