Why we LOVE bamboo...
Fast-Growing
It grows so stinkin’ quick! In fact, some species can grow almost 3 feet per day! Bamboo can mature in 3 years, unlike wood trees which can take 20 to 70 years. On top of this, bamboo can re-grow after being cut, which avoids the need for manual reforestation. *woot woot*
Home Compostable
Of course, like anything, bamboo products do eventually reach the end of their life. There's no need to send them to landfill when they can return to nourish the earth! Simply remove any non-plant materials (toothbrush bristles and dish brush wires), and add them to your home compost system. Don't have a home compost system? No worries, you can add bamboo items to your kerbside garden waste bin too!
Air Purifying Powers
Last but certainly not least, bamboo is incredibly beneficial to the environment. The plant itself actually sinks more carbon dioxide than any other tree of comparable size and it releases over 30% more oxygen as well.
Beyond its clean oxygen superpowers, bamboo makes the soil around it more sustainable and protects areas from soil erosion and landslides which are known for wiping out land, animals, and plants.
