When it comes to hitting that carbon-neutral goal in 2050, the most obvious choice for your vehicle is to swap to an electric car. But what if your car is still in perfectly good nick?
When it comes to reducing waste, we stand by a ‘use what you have’ philosophy. Before swapping to greener choices, the waste-free mindset is to use up what you have first. Of course, with vehicles, this means burning a heck of a lot more petrol for years to come.
So what’s the solution you ask? Toyota has been pondering this question too, and their answer is pretty cool.
Keep reading to discover the planet-friendly future of Toyota vehicles!
Like most car dealers, Toyota has big plans to release more electric vehicles in the coming years. However, the folks behind Toyota are also working on a plan to neutralize carbon impact in existing vehicles too.
Toyota explains that carbon neutrality simply won’t be reached with only new cars being electrified. To see a real difference, we have to look at the bigger picture, which in this case, is the millions of cars already on the roads.
With this in mind, Toyota is proposing an option available to existing car owners where they can have their existing vehicles converted to EVs!
With such an idea, we could not only reduce the number of cars unnecessarily discarded on the quest for EVs but see those carbon-neutral numbers sooner! Now that’s greener thinking!
While conversions are still in the testing phase, the carbon-neutral 2050 commitments made around the world suggest this is a very realistic goal! So how does this conversion idea impact your vehicle situation? Simply put, you’ll have more options available when making those carbon-neutral choices.
Buying a brand new ride won’t be the only way to go greener. You may convert your existing car, or even buy a converted used car! With so many vehicles already in the world, it seems a waste not to take advantage of what we’ve already got!
Do you already drive an electric vehicle or are you ready to make the swap? What are your thoughts on this clever conversion idea?
We’d love to hear what you’ve got to say so drop a comment below and let’s take part in the conversion conversation!
