They’re called B-Cycle and they’re sparking a green revolution faster than you can say "renewable energy." In just 18 months, these legends have turbocharged battery recycling by over 30% and quadrupled public drop-off points. The scheme isn't just about recycling; it's about safety too. B-cycle's commitment extends to educating folks about battery safety, alternatives and fire prevention...

Founded by the Battery Stewardship Council (BSC) and authorised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), B-cycle isn't just another recycling scheme—it's a full-throttle response to one of Australia's fastest-growing waste streams. With over 4,195 drop-off points across the nation, B-cycle is making it a breeze for Aussies to responsibly recycle their batteries, preventing these powerhouses of energy from haunting landfills.

Let's dive into some numbers because, hey, we love a bit of eco-nerd info to fuel our Happy Earth News! According to B-Cycle’s annual Positive Charge Report:

• Australians have recycled a staggering 2,375,363kg of used batteries, nearly doubling the collection rate since the scheme's launch in 18 months (up from 1.258 tonnes in 2021). Well done everyone!
• The average recovery rate of materials from batteries collected by B-cycle stands at an impressive 71.08%.
• B-cycle has facilitated a substantial increase in battery recycling, resulting in a 30% rise in battery recycling among all Australians.
• The scheme has quadrupled the number of public drop-off points, reaching over 4,195 locations across all states and territories.
